LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) April 09, 2012

Kitchen designer and manufacturer, bulthaup, recently hosted the first in a series of events being rolled out in the U.S. titled ?Conventional Wisdom.? The gatherings are an effort to bring together customers, architects, designers and others for fun, thought-provoking and interactive evenings at the company?s showrooms.

?Our first priority, on a daily basis and at these events, is to create an environment where people feel welcome and relaxed at our showrooms,? said David Westover, bulthaup?s U.S. CEO. ?bulthaup is not some inaccessible design icon. We?re about creating living spaces that are meant to be used and enjoyed. These events are living proof of that philosophy.?

The debut gathering at bulthaup?s Los Angeles showrooom featured the culinary creations of chef Javier Plascencia. His five course menu titled ?EL VERDE ES VIDA? highlighted gourmet foods and wine from the Baja region of Mexico.

?My inspiration for this event is the color green and how it is very present in Mexican cuisine,? said Chef Plascencia prior to the event. ?El verde es vida, from green olives, nopales, avocado and tomatillo, to all the world?s wonderful herbs we use like cilantro, apazote, hoja santa and so on.?

Plascencia, a chef and restaurateur from Tijuana, Mexico, was recently featured in the New York Times, The New Yorker and Sunset Magazine. He is the mastermind behind Tijuana?s Mision 19 restaurant, among other ventures.

More than 50 guests attended the event. Future ?Conventional Wisdom? events may include: insightful and inspired wine tastings with esteemed sommeliers; readings from noteworthy authors; presentations from award-winning architects, actors, musicians; and more. So stay tuned.

‘Come Play’ in Central Virginia at Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival

Sweet Briar, VA (PRWEB) April 09, 2012

From June 1 to July 22, the Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival, produced annually by Endstation Theatre Company and held at Sweet Briar College near Amherst, Va., is inviting visitors from around the region to ?come play? in Central Virginia. Festival audience members will be offered discounts at various local restaurants, wineries, breweries and hotels surrounding the festival. Getaway packages with even greater discounts will also be available, and will include hotel stays, festival tickets, dinners and more. This program is made possible in partnership with Virginia Commission for the Arts, Virginia Tourism Corporation, Nelson County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Lynchburg Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Bedford Tourism & Welcome Center.

?The areas of Lynchburg, Bedford Amherst and Nelson counties have so much to offer travelers,? said Geoffrey Kershner, artistic director and founder of Endstation Theatre Company. ?We have mountains, scenic drives and national forests, but we also have fantastic local wineries, breweries and restaurants. We want our audience members to come to the festival, stay for the weekend, and experience everything that is great about this region. It?s a great reason to explore Central Virginia.?

This year, Wine Enthusiast Magazine named Virginia as one of the 10 best wine travel destinations in the world. In partnership with the Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival, 14 local wineries are offering free or discounted tastings to all Festival?goers. Additionally, each outdoor theatrical performance will feature wine or beer from a different local vineyard or brewery to be enjoyed during the show.

The Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival, established in 2008, is an annual event that features a variety of productions, including inventive outdoor stagings of classic plays, re?imagined musical favorites, regionally based original works and innovative theater for young audiences. The 2012 season features three exciting productions: Shakespeare?s ?The Comedy of Errors? and ?Macbeth,? both produced outdoors on the bucolic Sweet Briar College campus, and ?Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,? an adventurous musical perfect for the whole family.

Sweet Briar is annually ranked among the top five or six on the Princeton Review?s ?Most Beautiful Campus? list, reflecting both the classical Georgian architecture of its academic village and a natural landscape of mountain views, woods and fields on more than 3,000 acres. Endstation takes advantage of this palette by staging its productions at a different campus location each year. This year?s ?The Comedy of Errors? will be set amidst the gardens of the historic Sweet Briar House, originally built in the 19th century and now used as the home of the College president. ?Macbeth? will be staged in the dell at the heart of campus beneath the stars. Audience members are encouraged to bring picnics for both shows.

Tickets for the Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival are $ 15?$ 22 for adults and $ 7?$ 15 for students.

SaveOnBrew.Com Offers Tips For How To Save On Beer During a Recession

Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 02, 2012

Beer spending is one of those sectors of the economy that continues to be recession-proof. Americans consumed 8,934,446 barrels of domestic craft beer in 2009 and 9,951,956 barrels in 2010, according to the Brewers Association. All in all, we consume a good $ 101 billion worth of beer each year. World-wide, global beer consumption increased 2.4 percent in 2011. Despite our unquenchable taste for beer, it can really hurt one?s pocketbook over time.

SaveOnBrew.com is America?s only beer price search engine. Site visitors need only enter their zip codes into the search engine to access the best advertised deals in their towns. They can also filter beer listings by craft/microbrew/cider, imports, domestic, flavored drinks, brands, stores and quantity. SaveOnBrew features everything from Coors Light, Labatt and Budweiser to Stella Artois, Guinness and Magic Hat, with new beers being added to the database every day.
